The RKW-Group at Metalcon 2008
RKW presents products for the construction industry
Frankenthal, 1 August 2008 – The RKW-Group will be presenting products for covering roofs for the North American market during this year’s Metalcon, which will be held from 1 to 3 October 2008 in Baltimore.
ROOFTOPGUARD II – Synthetic roof underlayments
The company is focusing here on multilayer roof underlayments with an anti-slip surface. The product, which is sold under the trade name Rooftopguard II, has been successfully used for many years on numerous construction projects in the USA. Thanks to the exclusive Fiber-Grip® surface, these roof underlayments can be processed roughly 30 per cent more quickly than similar products offered by the competition.
Rooftopguard II products, on which RKW grants a guarantee which is limited to 25 years, are completely waterproof, extremely weather-resistant and are even hurricane-proof. In addition, the material is resistant to insects, pests, rotting and mould. The underlayments, which are supplied in the form of a roll, are easy to handle thanks to their low weight and can be stored out in the open for up to six months.

New approaches in the production of nonwovens
Great interest in RKW ProLife® at Index 2008
Worms, 22 April 2008 – The RKW Group can look back on a successful Index trade fair. RKW ProLife® more than lived up to its name at INDEX 2008 in Geneva: The stand at the trade fair was full of life at all times, with visitors and interested parties taking advantage of the opportunity to experience a new product live at the trade fair for the international nonwovens industry, which is held every three years.
The main focal point of the presentation for the RKW ProLife® business unit was the new development RKW HyJet – an in-line hydroentangled spunbond nonwoven which can also be combined with film products and thus opens up new potential areas of application.
In addition, the new RKW divisional brand presented its full range of films and laminates for medical and hygiene applications such as baby diapers at the trade fair stand, which covered an area of more than 207 m2.
The RKW Group currently employs more than 2,500 people at 18 locations around the world and in the 2007 financial year it generated sales of 665 million euros.
